For Immediate Release - The South Carolina Independent School Association recently presented the coveted Bill Simpson Award to Calhoun Academy’s Jude Walker. The Bill Simpson Award is the highest award presented to an individual student-athlete by The South Carolina Independent School Association. The award is presented to one graduating male and one graduating female student-athlete. Criteria for selection includes class rank, SAT and/or ACT score, GPA, academic honors, athletic accomplishments, a proven record of student leadership and community service. Jude Walker exhibited all of the qualities and characteristics associated with this award. SCISA’s Deputy Executive Director, Robert T. Braciszewski, stated during Calhoun Academy’s graduation ceremony, “Jude is the epitome of a servant leader. He is a true inspiration to all those around him, and he will be a great leader for his community, state, and nation for years to come. ”
