September:
We participated in raising money, along with Student Council, for
victims of Hurricane Katrina. We raised money specifically for a
private school in Mississippi, Sharkey-Isequina School
October:
R.V. Brown came to CA on Wednesday, October 26th to speak with
7th-12th grade students. R.V. had been to CA several years earlier, so
everyone was excited about his return. He spoke about many topics, but
some main focus topics were honoring your mother & father,abuse of
drugs/alcohol,and peer pressure. Everyone enjoyed his speech so much
that after he finished, the students stayed in the gym an extra 45
minutes to speak with him one-on-one. Thanks especially to Bill and
Harrison Moore who were instrumental ia arranging for his visit.
November:
FCA fed the Varsity football players, coaches, and managers on
Friday, November 4th after their a. m. practice. This is an annual
tradition started by FCA several years ago, and the players look
forward to this "kick-off" for football playoffs. Thanks to all the
parents who contributed to this effort.
We are also planning
for our annual Red Cross blood drive, which will be held at the school
on Monday, December 5th. The bloodmobile will be here from
11:00am-4pm. Please call the school to set up an appointment to
donate. Our goal this year is 40 units.
